15 JEHOVAH’S WITNESS MEMBERS KILLED IN IMO ROAD CRASH
A tragic road accident in Imo State has claimed the lives of 15 members of the Jehovah’s Witness congregation.
The incident occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Monday at Awomama Bridge, when a trailer driving against traffic rammed into a bus conveying the worshippers.
The victims, all from the Agwa community in the Oguta Local Government Area, were returning home after attending their annual convention in Uli, Anambra State. Sadly, all the passengers in the bus reportedly died on the spot, and their bodies have been deposited in a morgue.
Confirming the heartbreaking development, the Chairman of Oguta Local Government Area, Ifeanyi Nnani, described the crash as a devastating blow to the community. In a condolence message issued through his aide, Orum Desmond, he prayed for God’s comfort for the grieving families.
“Oguta Local Government Area has once again witnessed another dark moment, very tragic and sorrowful. These pathetic incidents remind us of the deep pain that has suddenly taken away lives from Agwa people in the past,” he said.
The community has been thrown into mourning, as families and friends struggle to come to terms with the sudden loss of their loved ones.
