1,714 KWARA PILGRIMS SET FOR 2026 HAJJ
No fewer than 1,714 intending pilgrims from Kwara State are set to participate in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia, according to the state’s Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Board’s Secretary, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, said preparations are already at an advanced stage, with visas processed, accommodation secured, and travel materials ready.
He also disclosed that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has scheduled the inaugural flight for May 3 nationwide, while Kwara pilgrims will be airlifted in three batches on May 6, 7, and 9 via Max Air.
Abdulkadir urged pilgrims to safeguard their permit access cards, describing them as essential travel documents.
To ensure proper preparation, the board has scheduled enlightenment programmes on Hajj rites and guidelines. The sessions will be led by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Abdullahi Abdulhamid, and the Grand Khadi, Abdullateef Kamaldeen, on April 19 and April 26 respectively.
On cost, he stated that the approved Hajj fare is ₦7.75 million. Pilgrims who previously paid ₦8.5 million are advised to visit the board for refunds, which will only be issued to the original payer with valid proof.
The board assured that all arrangements are in place to ensure a smooth and hitch-free pilgrimage.
