2026 WCQ: SOUTH AFRICA CAPTAIN WILLIAMS VOWS TO DEFEAT SUPER EAGLES
Bafana Bafana captain, Ronwen Williams, has declared that South Africa is fully focused on defeating the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The Group D clash will take place on Tuesday night at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, with qualification hopes hanging in the balance.
South Africa currently leads the group with 16 points from seven matches, while Nigeria sits in third place with seven points from the same number of games.
A victory against Nigeria, coupled with favorable results in other fixtures, could see Hugo Broos’ men officially secure their ticket to the World Cup.
However, Williams, who also plays for Mamelodi Sundowns, insists the team’s sole focus is on handling business against the Super Eagles.
“The most important thing is to get the job done. We do not want any favours from anyone; we want to do things our way,” Williams told Safa.net.
The clash promises to be a fierce contest as both sides fight to keep their World Cup hopes alive.
