Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Director, Augustine Eguavoen, has stressed that the Super Eagles have no choice but to win their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.

The Super Eagles, who edged Rwanda’s Amavubi 1-0 in Uyo last Saturday, are currently six points behind South Africa on the Group C table.

A victory in Bloemfontein would see the team narrow the gap to just three points, keeping their qualification hopes alive.

Speaking ahead of the clash, Eguavoen admitted respect for South Africa but maintained that Nigeria must fight for maximum points.

“Of course it’s a massive game, we have no choice, Nigeria has no choice. We respect South Africa, but we are gunning for three points, simple as that,” he told FARPOST.

The decisive showdown will take place on Tuesday at the Toyota Stadium, Bloemfontein, kicking off at 6 pm local time (5 pm Nigerian time).

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
