Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has confidently declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is gearing up to make major political strides ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku made the statement on Friday through a post on X, just a day after officially registering as an ADC member in Yola, Adamawa State.

The former vice-president also posted pictures of himself receiving his ADC membership card and proudly displaying a customised “Waziri 01” jersey. The brief ceremony attracted a large crowd of supporters, party officials, and community leaders, who celebrated his formal entry into the party.

Reaffirming the party’s rising momentum, Atiku revealed that the ADC’s nationwide mobilisation campaign is fully underway.

He wrote:

“Yesterday, the ADC train made a stopover in Jalingo for the unveiling of the Taraba State secretariat of the Coalition Party.
There’s no stopping the ADC; it is heading your way.”

His message is widely interpreted as a bold signal to the ruling party and President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that the ADC is preparing to be a formidable force in the coming elections.

With Atiku’s entry, political analysts say the ADC may witness increased attention as the 2027 race begins to heat up.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
