Governorship candidates in Lagos State are expected to debate their plans for the state on Sunday, November 8, ahead of the 2027 elections.

The debate, organised by the Nigeria Debate Consortium, is scheduled for 7pm at The Hub by IALA, House of His Glory, in Lekki.

Organisers said candidates would present their agendas, explain their policy choices and answer questions about issues affecting residents.

Topics will include transportation, infrastructure, security, housing, education, healthcare, jobs and economic growth.

The event will open a series of debates planned for selected states, with a presidential debate or town hall expected later in the election season.

According to the organisers, participants will receive equal speaking time and be subject to the same rules and moderation standards.

Experienced journalists will moderate the discussion, which will be broadcast to national and online audiences.

The organisers said the aim was to help voters assess candidates beyond campaign promises by examining their priorities and how they intend to deliver them.

Lagos residents, particularly eligible voters, young people, civil society groups and business representatives, were encouraged to follow the discussion.

The supplied announcement did not confirm the final list of participating candidates.
