2027: I NEVER DECLARED GUBERNATORIAL AMBITION — DEPUTY SPEAKER KALU
The office of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has denied reports suggesting that he declared his intention to run for the governorship of Abia State in 2027.
Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, Levinus Nwabugbiogu, in a statement on Sunday, emphasized that Kalu remains focused on his four-year term representing Bende Federal Constituency and serving Nigerians.
The statement, which called for a retraction of the report, described the news as inaccurate and misleading.
“We categorically state that the report is baseless, unfounded, and lacks credibility. The Deputy Speaker has not made any declaration, either privately or publicly, to contest for the governorship of Abia State in 2027,” it said.
The statement added that Kalu’s political family will announce his future intentions at the appropriate time.
