2027: KADUNA APC RALLY WON’T ERASE POVERTY, INSECURITY – PRP
The Peoples Redemption Party has criticised the All Progressives Congress over its Kaduna rally, saying political gatherings cannot make Nigerians overlook poverty and insecurity.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, PRP National Chairman Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed accused the ruling party of prioritising a show of political strength over the difficulties facing citizens.
He questioned the cost of the rally and alleged that public resources were being used to project support for the APC. However, the statement did not provide evidence establishing how much was spent or where the funding came from.
Baba-Ahmed argued that voters would judge the government by its performance rather than the scale of its campaign events.
“APC cannot paper over its failed stewardship and record with money,” he said.
The PRP chairman also criticised the security situation, alleging that residents were being abducted while police officers protected billboards connected to the rally.
He said communities continued to face attacks, ransom demands and fear, and urged the government to make public safety a priority.
Baba-Ahmed condemned the killing of Sheikh Yahaya Masussuka at his home in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, and called for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
He also raised concerns about President Bola Tinubu’s health based on his appearance at the rally, although he offered no medical evidence to support those remarks.
Looking ahead to 2027, Baba-Ahmed expressed confidence that a credible election would remove the APC from power.
He maintained that Nigerians were entitled to security and dignified living conditions regardless of their political affiliation.
The supplied report did not include a response from the APC or the Presidency.
