2027 OGUN GOVERNORSHIP: US-BASED INDIGENES RALLY BEHIND YAYI, VOW STRONG DIASPORA BACKING

In a significant boost to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, professionals and indigenes of the state residing in the United States have formally endorsed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

The USA Ogun State Indigenes and Professionals Forum described Senator Adeola as a visionary leader with the capacity and experience to drive sustainable development in Ogun State. In a statement, the group pledged to mobilise diaspora resources, attract foreign investments, and provide strategic policy support to his administration.

Senator Adeola, who currently represents Ogun West in the Senate, is widely regarded as the APC’s consensus candidate. Supporters highlight his track record in legislative achievements, fiscal prudence, and commitment to infrastructure development as key qualities that position him to succeed Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Forum leaders emphasised the critical role of the diaspora in nation-building, promising to facilitate knowledge transfer, tourism promotion, and economic partnerships. They urged other Ogun indigenes abroad to join the movement for what they termed “a new era of progress and inclusive governance.”
