2027 POLLS: INEC CAUTIONS AGAINST EXPECTATIONS OF TOTAL PERFECTION
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that achieving completely flawless elections in Nigeria may not be immediately possible.
The Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Joash Amupitan, made this known on Sunday at the Citizens’ Town Hall Meeting on the Electoral Act held in Abuja.
He noted that concerns about result transmission are often misunderstood, explaining that the challenge lies more in the adequacy of Nigeria’s network infrastructure rather than the absence of network coverage itself.
Amupitan appealed to Nigerians to manage expectations, stressing that while the commission is committed to delivering credible polls, perfection cannot be guaranteed at this stage.
He assured that INEC will continue to improve its processes and systems to ensure the best possible electoral outcomes for the country.
