Kinsmen of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike have formally endorsed Governor Siminalayi Fubara for a second term ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made on Tuesday during the 2025 Eneka Day Celebration at State Primary School One, Eneka, themed “Unity: Our Strength for Progress.”

Representatives of the Eneka community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Wike’s hometown, emphasized that the governorship is now solely held by Fubara and expressed full support for his continued leadership.

The event, which drew community leaders, traditional rulers, and residents from the eleven communities that make up the clan, served as a platform to pass a vote of confidence in the Governor.

Speaking on behalf of the clan, Lawson Chukwu, Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC) of Eneka, reaffirmed the people’s loyalty to Fubara. He commended the administration’s development efforts in the area and urged the Governor to prioritize the construction of internal roads within the community.

Chukwu also called for the upgrade of the Eneka traditional stool from second-class to first-class status, noting that such recognition would strengthen cultural heritage and unity among the people.

Senator John Azuta-Mbata, political leader of the Eneka Clan and President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, reiterated the community’s recognition of Siminalayi Fubara as the legitimate Governor of Rivers State. He pledged the clan’s continued support and friendship, describing their relationship with the Governor as firm and enduring.

Responding to the endorsement, Governor Fubara expressed appreciation for the show of unity and assured residents that his administration would prioritize the repair of the community’s deteriorated roads, many of which were damaged during flyover constructions.

“I promise significant interventions to improve road access within your clan and enhance your quality of life,” Fubara said.

He further directed the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs to commence the upgrade of the Eneka traditional stool to first-class status, emphasizing that a peaceful and united community facilitates meaningful development without internal conflict.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
