23-YEAR-OLD CENTRAL AFRICAN MAN FOUND DEAD AFTER SUSPECTED SUICIDE IN LAGOS
Tragedy struck in Ikorodu, Lagos State, after a 23-year-old man from the Central African Republic reportedly took his own life at his residence.
The deceased, identified as Banteme, was found hanging in the kitchen of his home at Anuoluwapo Estate, Phase 2, Igbelara, Ijede, on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
According to reports, Banteme had left work earlier that day to prepare a meal at home. Hours later, his roommate, Achil Doungo, discovered his lifeless body.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the incident, noting that Banteme left no note or message explaining his actions.
Neighbours and friends, still in shock, described the development as deeply saddening.
Police officers later evacuated the body to Ikorodu General Hospital, where doctors confirmed him dead. His remains have been deposited at the morgue for autopsy.
The heartbreaking incident has once again raised concerns about mental health awareness, especially among young people living away from their families.
