Nigerians may soon begin to enjoy uninterrupted electricity supply, according to Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

Speaking in Abuja on Thursday during the inauguration of two new training blocks and a 104-room hostel at the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN), Adelabu described the development as a major step forward for the power sector.

The minister assured that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is not only making promises but also delivering results.

“In no time, we are going to witness a country where there is 24/7 uninterrupted power supply. This is possible and we have certainly seen the signs,” he said.

Adelabu highlighted recent progress, noting that Nigeria had recently recorded the highest power generation and transmission in its history. He credited this achievement to the government’s renewed focus and deliberate efforts.

He also revealed that priority is being given to universities, teaching hospitals, primary health centres, and public institutions, stressing that electricity remains the backbone of economic growth and transformation.

The minister further emphasized Nigeria’s potential to become self-reliant in power infrastructure.

“We have what it takes to start manufacturing our own meters, cables, transformers, transmission transformers and batteries. We have the brain. We have the people. We must be self-reliant and sustainable, and we are very close to achieving this,” Adelabu stated.

With these strides, the government insists that a new era of reliable power supply is closer than ever.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
