25-YEAR-OLD FACES TRIAL IN LAGOS OVER ALLEGED WEAPON POSSESSION, UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY
A 25-year-old man, Olamide Oyebamiji, has appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over allegations of unlawful assembly and possession of a weapon.
Oyebamiji was brought before the court on Thursday as the prosecution presented the allegations against him. The case centres on claims that he was involved in an unlawful gathering and was found in possession of a weapon.
The charges have placed the defendant before the Lagos court, where the allegations will be examined through the judicial process. The prosecution is expected to present evidence in support of its case as proceedings continue

The defendant, however, is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
The case comes amid continued efforts by law enforcement authorities to address activities involving the unlawful possession of weapons and gatherings considered capable of threatening public safety.
Further proceedings will determine the circumstances surrounding Oyebamiji’s arrest and the allegations brought against him.
The court is expected to consider the evidence presented by both the prosecution and the defence before making any determination on the matter.
