25-YEAR-OLD NABBED FOR STEALING WATER PUMP FROM OGUN FARMLAND
So-Safe Corps Arrests Suspect Caught Stealing Pumping Machine on Ogun Farm
The Ogun State So-Safe Corps has arrested a 25-year-old man, Sodiq Kamoru, for allegedly stealing a 1.5-horsepower pumping machine from a farmland in Lokoji, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.
Kamoru was reportedly caught in the act while trying to escape with the stolen machine. His arrest was made following a distress call that alerted officers to suspicious activity on the farm.
According to a statement released by the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, officers from the Mokoloki-Ofada Area Command, led by Assistant Commander Odetayo Amidu, responded swiftly and apprehended the suspect around 1:37 p.m. on Monday.
“The suspect, a resident of Bisodun in the same local government, was caught red-handed,” Ganzallo said.
The stolen pumping machine was recovered at the scene, and both the suspect and the item have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at Iro Division for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commander Ganzallo praised the officers for their professionalism and swift response, assuring the public that the safety of lives and property remains a top priority in Ogun State.
“No part of the state will be left unprotected. The safety of lives and property is non-negotiable,” he emphasized.
