Tragedy struck the Kagini community in Abuja after a 30-year-old man, identified as IK Anago, was found dead by su!cide inside his home.

The sad discovery was made on Friday, September 5, 2025, when residents noticed that Anago had not opened his shop as usual and all calls to his phone went unanswered. Concerned neighbours reported the matter to the Kagini police outpost around 1 p.m.

Police officers rushed to his residence in the Zone 4 area and found him hanging from the roof of his sitting room.

According to a police source, items such as his mobile phone, a small pestle, a knife, and a drum were recovered from the apartment.

The FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday. She said officers from the Dei-Dei division evacuated the body to the morgue at Kubwa General Hospital after a doctor confirmed his death.

Adeh added that the FCT Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation, including an autopsy, to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, the community has been left in shock over the sudden loss, as residents described the deceased as a quiet man who largely kept to himself.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
