63 TERRORISTS KILLED AS TROOPS DEFEND MILITARY POSITION IN BORNO
The Nigerian Army has confirmed, with supporting video evidence, the neutralization of approximately 63 suspected to be members of Boko Haram and ISWAP in Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to the Army, the insurgents were killed after launching a coordinated assault early Wednesday morning in an attempt to breach the 68 Battalion’s Main Defensive Area.
In a statement shared via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, Army Headquarters disclosed that the attackers advanced on foot from the Duguri axis, aided by multiple armed drones. However, troops successfully repelled the offensive.
The statement further indicated that follow-up operations are currently underway to track down fleeing insurgents. It added that Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms have been deployed to monitor escape routes and prevent the attackers from regrouping.
Video footage released by the Army shows several bodies of the neutralized insurgents at the scene of the confrontation.
