ABIODUN APPROVES NEW OGUN FUND TO STRENGTHEN EDUCATION AND SKILLS TRAINING

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has signed the Ogun State Education and Skills Trust Fund Bill into law, creating a framework aimed at supporting the development of education and skills acquisition across the state. The new law is expected to provide additional funding and institutional support for initiatives in the education and vocational training sectors.

The governor signed the bill into law as part of efforts by his administration to improve human capital development in Ogun State. The legislation establishes a dedicated mechanism through which resources can be mobilised and channelled towards educational development, skills training and other programmes designed to improve learning and employability.

Abiodun said the initiative reflected his administration’s commitment to investing in the people of the state. He noted that education and relevant skills remained important to preparing young people for employment, entrepreneurship and other opportunities in an increasingly competitive economy.

The establishment of the trust fund is also expected to strengthen collaboration between the government and other stakeholders in education and skills development. Contributions and resources made available through the framework can be directed towards projects and programmes that address identified needs within the state’s education and vocational training system.

The governor said his administration would continue to pursue policies aimed at improving the quality of education while expanding opportunities for residents to acquire practical and market-relevant skills. The signing of the bill therefore marks another step in the state government’s efforts to support education, skills development and broader human capital investment in Ogun State.
