The Adamawa State Police Command has announced that it will begin strict enforcement of tinted glass regulations starting October 2, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, residents were reminded that the law prohibiting the use of tinted vehicle glasses without a valid permit remains in force under the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act, Road Traffic Act 2004, and related laws.

The police advised all vehicle owners with factory-fitted or aftermarket tinted glasses to obtain or update their permits before the enforcement date to avoid sanctions.

According to the command, the move comes in response to rising security threats, as criminals have often used vehicles with tinted glasses to transport weapons, abduct victims, or evade detection at checkpoints.

“Regulating tinted glasses is vital to curbing such crimes,” Nguroje emphasized.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
