ADAMAWA POLICE WARN SCHOOLS AGAINST MISUSE OF POLICE AND MILITARY UNIFORMS
The Adamawa State Police Command has issued a stern warning to schools, groups, and individuals against the unauthorized use of police and military uniforms.
This follows disturbing photos that recently went viral on social media, showing students dressed in security uniforms during a school costume day celebration. In the pictures, some of the students were seen acting in ways the command described as indecent and damaging to the image of Nigeria’s security agencies.
In a statement released on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Commissioner of Police, CP Morris Dankombo, condemned the act, stressing that it is not only inappropriate but also a criminal offence punishable by law.
“The unauthorized use of police uniforms is a serious offence. Such acts undermine the integrity of our security agencies, mislead the public, and will not be tolerated,” the statement read.
The Commissioner has ordered a full-scale investigation to identify those responsible, while warning that anyone caught engaging in such practices will face the full wrath of the law.
The police command also appealed to schools and the public to show respect for official uniforms and desist from using them without proper authorization.
This warning serves as a reminder that security uniforms are not costumes, but symbols of authority that must be protected from misuse.
