The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dr. Moses Paul, has issued a firm warning to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, stressing that the will of the voters must be upheld in Saturday’s council elections.

Speaking to supporters and residents in Abuja ahead of the election, Paul urged citizens to stay resolute and confident in the integrity of the electoral process.

“In terms of protecting the votes, Senator Kingibe is present, Senator Obika Joshua is present. Our votes must count,” he stated.

He further warned the minister, saying, “This is not Obia-Akpor; you cannot manipulate votes in AMAC. Someone should tell the minister that Dr. Mo says the people’s will will prevail.”

Paul also outlined his vision for AMAC, promising decisive leadership with a focus on addressing insecurity and the daily hardships faced by residents.

“On Saturday, AMAC will witness a new era marked by boldness, objectivity, decisiveness, and fearlessness. Enough of people dying, enough of poverty, enough of brigandage. We own this city. Wike does not. The city belongs to the people—the sovereign masses and the young people listening to me,” he added.

He urged young people and residents to actively participate in the election, describing it as an opportunity to reshape governance in the council.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
