The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed claims that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed a list of its state chairmen across Nigeria.

In a statement released on Sunday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, described the report titled “Coalition Update: INEC Confirms ADC State Chairmen Nationwide” as fake news designed to create confusion within the party.

“To the best of our knowledge and verification, INEC has issued no such confirmation, either officially or unofficially,” Abdullahi said.

He clarified that the selection and approval of state leaders remain an internal party matter, guided by the ADC’s constitution. According to him, INEC only recognizes names formally submitted by the party after due process has been followed.

Abdullahi urged members and the public to disregard the fake list and rely solely on official communication from the party’s national leadership.

“We therefore urge our members and stakeholders to remain calm, vigilant, and guided by official communication from the national leadership of the ADC,” he said.

The spokesman reassured supporters that the party is committed to discipline, structure, and internal democracy, adding that any genuine updates on leadership will be made public through verified platforms.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
