ADC Surges in Rivers with Over 800,000 Members as Amaechi, Omehia, Secondus, and Other Political Heavyweights Join

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State reports that its membership has swelled to over 800,000, with several prominent political figures now fully on board ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a press conference in Port Harcourt over the weekend, ADC spokesman Luckyman Egila described the party as “a beautiful bride” that has been attracting major politicians from across the state.

According to Egila, two former governors — Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia — have officially registered as members of the ADC, alongside Prince Uche Secondus, the former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Other big names now in the ADC include Chief Austin Okpara, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and Dr. Abiye Sekibo, former Minister of Transport.

“These persons have left their former parties and are now full members of the ADC. Once you register and receive a membership card, you are officially part of the family,” Egila explained.

He noted that with such political firepower and a rapidly growing membership base, the ADC is positioning itself as a formidable force in Rivers State politics ahead of the next election cycle.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
