The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State has reaffirmed its strength and unity, despite the recent departure of key political figures Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso from the party.

The party’s Chairman-elect in the state, Chukwudi Dimkpa, said the development has not weakened the party’s structure, noting that the ADC remains firmly established across all 23 local government areas in Rivers State.

According to Dimkpa, the party’s strength goes beyond individual members, stressing that its foundation lies in its values, internal structure, and collective support base.

He explained that while the exit of prominent figures may attract attention, it does not define the party’s future or stability.

Dimkpa also described the situation as an opportunity for the party to refocus and strengthen grassroots mobilisation, deepen internal structures, and expand its reach at ward and local government levels.

He maintained that the ADC remains committed to delivering accountable leadership, economic opportunities, and inclusive governance to the people of Rivers State.

The party further urged its members and supporters to remain united, emphasizing that its long-term vision is bigger than any single individual and focused on building a sustainable political alternative.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
