Adekunle Gold has etched his name in history as the first musician to sell out the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, formerly known as the National Theatre, Lagos.

The acclaimed singer achieved the feat after filling the 3,560-capacity venue during his concert held on Friday, December 26, 2025.

In recognition of the landmark achievement, Adekunle Gold was presented with two plaques on Thursday, January 1, 2026. One plaque honoured him as the first artiste to headline and sell out the iconic theatre, while the second acknowledged the management and record label behind the successful concert.

The historic show featured performances by Olamide, with appearances from other notable artistes, including Yinka Ayefele and Adewale Ayuba.

Taking to Instagram to celebrate the milestone, Adekunle Gold expressed gratitude to his fans for their unwavering support.

“Thank you all for a great end to 2025. Where should I bring the Fuji experience to?” he wrote.

Several Nigerian celebrities, including Davido, Brother Shaggy, Timi Agbaje, Obaksolo, and BBNaija star Imisi, took to the comment section to congratulate the singer on his achievement.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
