ADELEKE CHARGES NEW UNIOSUN COUNCIL TO DRIVE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has inaugurated the reconstituted Governing Council of Osun State University, with Professor Adewale Abiodun Oladipo retained as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman.
The governor announced the development on Monday, saying the reconstitution was part of efforts to strengthen the university’s governance and consolidate the progress recorded by the institution in recent years.
Adeleke expressed satisfaction with the achievements recorded by UNIOSUN under its management and previous governing council, describing the progress as evidence of what can be achieved through stability, commitment and a shared vision.
According to the governor, retaining Professor Oladipo as Pro-Chancellor would provide the continuity and institutional experience needed to build on the university’s existing achievements.
He therefore charged members of the newly constituted council to work closely with the university’s management and operate within the provisions of the law while maintaining mutual respect and a collective commitment to the advancement of the institution.
Adeleke said his administration would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving UNIOSUN’s academic standing, research capacity, innovation and overall development.
He described the university as an important investment belonging to the people of Osun State and expressed confidence that the new council would help position the institution for greater excellence and international recognition.
The governor also expressed his expectation that UNIOSUN would continue producing graduates equipped with the knowledge and skills required to make meaningful contributions to society.
The inauguration marks a fresh phase for the university’s governing structure, with the council expected to provide strategic direction and work with the management to strengthen academic standards, research activities and institutional development.
