ADELEKE MOURNS DEATH OF OWAMIRAN OF ESA-OKE
Governor Ademola Adeleke has condoled with the people of Esa-Oke over the death of the Owamiran of Esa-Oke, Adeyemi Adediran.
In a statement issued through his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor described the late monarch as a respected traditional ruler whose reign was marked by wisdom, peace, and dedication to the development of his people.
The revered monarch reportedly passed away in the early hours of Wednesday.
Reacting to the development, Adeleke said: “Osun State has lost a distinguished monarch and a father figure who devoted his life to the service of his people and the preservation of our cherished cultural values.”
The governor praised the monarch’s humility, maturity, and stabilising influence within Esa-Oke and the wider Ijesa community.
“Kabiyesi’s reign reflected humility, maturity, and an enduring commitment to peace and development. His wise counsel and stabilising influence will be greatly missed,” he stated.
Adeleke further noted that the late royal father played a major role in promoting harmony and communal progress in Obokun Local Government Area and across Ijesaland.
He described the monarch’s legacy as one built on honour, integrity, and selfless leadership.
The governor also extended condolences to the royal family, the people of Esa-Oke, the Obokun Traditional Council, and the entire Ijesa community, praying for strength and comfort for those affected by the loss.
Before the monarch’s death, there had been growing concern in the community over reports about his health condition after he had been absent from public functions in recent days.
Tension in the community increased after the Ogboni of Esa-Oke, Paul Olamiju, announced a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Wednesday.
