The Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Motunrayo Adeleye, has announced her intention to contest the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

Adeleye made the declaration on Thursday at Ajuwon/Akute Ward 6 in Ifo Local Government Area, where she addressed party executives and stakeholders, describing her decision to begin consultations from her ward as a reflection of her grassroots connection.

The former two-term member of the Ogun State House of Assembly said her ambition is driven by a desire to provide effective representation and promote inclusive development across the constituency.

“Our constituency, being very dynamic in nature, deserves leadership that understands its complexities, and I am more prepared to harness its strengths for sustainable growth,” she said.

She outlined her priorities to include economic empowerment, job creation, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises, alongside promoting vocational training and attracting investments to boost local industries.

Adeleye also pledged to maintain open communication with constituents, emphasising the importance of participatory governance.

She expressed appreciation to Dapo Abiodun for appointing her to the state cabinet and supporting her in her role.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
