Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has backed Nigeria to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to kick off later this month in Morocco.

The tournament will run from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Nigeria finished as runners-up at the last edition in Ivory Coast, losing 2–1 to the hosts in the final. Despite that setback, Iwobi believes the team has what it takes to go one step further this time.

Speaking to AySuga Channel, the Fulham star expressed confidence in Nigeria’s chances:

“We were really close last AFCON, but the only way we can improve on the last AFCON is to win it.

We have the players to do it, we believe we can, we just have to prove it.”

The Super Eagles will aim to secure their fourth AFCON title, having last won the tournament in 2013.
