AFCON: YESTERDAY’S RESULTS AND FULL BOXING DAY FIXTURES
The results of Wednesday’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) matches are in.
In Group F, defending champions Ivory Coast edged Mozambique 1-0, courtesy of a lone goal from Manchester United star Amad Diallo. Meanwhile, Cameroon also secured a 1-0 victory over Gabon, with Etta Eyong scoring the decisive goal in the first half.
In Group E, Algeria dominated Sudan 3-0, with captain Riyad Mahrez netting a brace and Ibrahim Maza adding a goal. Burkina Faso claimed a 2-1 win against Equatorial Guinea, moving into second place in the group behind leaders Algeria.
No AFCON matches are scheduled for today, Thursday (Christmas Day). The Group Stage Match-two fixtures resume on Friday (Boxing Day), with Angola facing Zimbabwe in the afternoon and Egypt taking on South Africa in the evening. Later Friday night, Zambia will clash with Comoros, while Morocco meets Mali.
