Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars, have confirmed the retention of key players, including Super Eagles stars Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi, for the upcoming 2025–26 season.

Veteran midfielder and team captain, Rabiu Ali, will also continue with the club as part of the experienced core heading into the new campaign.

Other players retained by Sai Masu Gida include Muttaka Musa, Abdullahi Abubakar, Fahad Usman, Dawud Ibrahim, Abdullahi Ali, Yusuf Bala Maigoro, Naziru Auwalu Ibrahim, Aminu Adam Sani, Habibu Yakubu, Mustapha Umar, and Ibrahim Sani Halliru.

Goalkeeper Jerry Alex and outfield players Umar Sani Yakasai, Auwal Ali Malam, Imran Ahmad, Sudais Ali Baba, Zaharadeen Bello, Yusuf Abdullahi, Bright Emmanuel, Ibrahim Inuwa, and Mubarak Lawal are also set to stay with the team.

Additionally, four promising young talents—Jibrin Yusuf, Aminu Muhammed, Mustapha Muhammed, and Muhammad Usman—will be promoted from the developmental squad to the senior team as part of the club's strategy to combine experience with youth development.

The retained squad is scheduled to resume pre-season training next week at the club’s training ground in Kano.

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars continue their search for a new head coach following the recent resignation of technical adviser, Usman Abdallah.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
