AIR PEACE WELCOMES FOURTH BOEING 777, SETS SIGHTS ON LONDON AND BEYOND
Nigeria’s biggest airline, Air Peace, has taken another bold step in its global expansion drive with the arrival of its fourth Boeing 777 aircraft.
The wide-body jet, a Boeing 777-200 ER with registration number 5N-CEG, touched down at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Friday, August 22, 2025, at exactly 3:32 p.m. from Teruel, Spain. Its arrival was greeted with the traditional water-cannon salute and a warm reception led by Air Peace Chairman Dr. Allen Onyema, Executive Director Obinna Onyema, COO Mrs. Oluwatoyin Olajide, and other senior executives.
A Boost for International Expansion
Speaking on the milestone, airline spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey explained that the acquisition aligns with Air Peace’s mission to deepen global connectivity and provide passengers with world-class travel options.
The 312-seater aircraft offers 26 premium Business Class seats and 286 Economy Class seats. Business travellers will enjoy private, luxury-style seating, while Economy passengers can look forward to generous legroom and enhanced onboard service.
Dr. Onyema described the development as “pivotal” for the airline, revealing that the aircraft will soon be deployed on long-haul routes from Abuja to London Heathrow and Gatwick.
More Destinations Coming
Air Peace is not stopping there. Plans are underway to expand further into key European cities, South America (with direct flights to São Paulo, Brazil), and the Caribbean, building on its successful operations in Antigua and Barbuda as well as St. Kitts and Nevis.
Affordable Travel for Nigerians
Reaffirming his commitment to making international travel more accessible, Onyema criticised the exorbitant fares often charged by foreign carriers and promised that Air Peace would continue to offer fair and affordable pricing. He also called for a stronger hub system in Nigeria to help local airlines compete globally.
The Air Peace chairman praised President Bola Tinubu for his support of indigenous airlines and lauded the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Senator Festus Keyamo, for rolling out inclusive policies that strengthen Nigerian carriers’ position on the world stage.
