ALAN SHEARER: CHELSEA COULD SELL JACKSON WITH NEW STRIKERS NOW IN SQUAD

Premier League legend Alan Shearer believes Chelsea might consider selling striker Nicolas Jackson this summer, given the fresh attacking options the club now has.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Shearer suggested that with the recent arrivals of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and João Pedro from Brighton, Chelsea’s forward line looks crowded — making Jackson potentially expendable.

“I don’t know, am I playing devil’s advocate here in thinking Jackson may be the one?” Shearer said. “That wouldn’t surprise me if he was sold, whether to another club here in England or abroad. They’ve got some serious options in every forward position.”

Jackson, who joined Chelsea from Villarreal, has had a mixed spell at Stamford Bridge, drawing criticism from fans and pundits for some of his performances. With new faces now added to the squad, speculation over his future is growing.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will cash in on the Senegalese forward or keep him to compete for a spot in what promises to be a fiercely contested attacking lineup next season.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
