AMAECHI WINS ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY IN BAYELSA
A former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has emerged winner of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary in Bayelsa State.
According to results released by the party on Tuesday, Amaechi defeated former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen in the state-level contest.
Amaechi reportedly secured a total of 44,404 votes to clinch victory in the Bayelsa presidential primary, according to figures shared by the ADC.
Atiku Abubakar came second with 6,570 votes, while Hayatu-Deen polled 939 votes.
The party said the result forms part of its ongoing nationwide presidential primary process ahead of the 2027 general elections, where delegates across states are voting to determine the party’s flagbearer.
Although final national results are yet to be collated, early indications suggest the contest remains competitive as voting continues across several states.
