AMBASSADORIAL APPOINTMENTS: ‘NO IGBO SHOULD SERVE IN EMBASSY LED BY RENO OMOKRI’ – CHARLY BOY

Legendary musician and socialite Charly Boy has described Nigeria as a “sour nation.”

In pidgin English, he said, “Nigeria don Sawa.”

The outspoken Imo-born artist criticized the presidency’s decision to nominate Reno Omokri, whom he describes as a clown and a bigot, for an ambassadorial position.

Charly Boy questioned how President Bola Tinubu could forward Omokri’s name to the Senate for confirmation despite the alleged bigotry he has expressed against the Igbo in recent months.

According to him, the nomination is effectively an endorsement of Omokri’s social media remarks, adding that any president committed to national unity would not make such a choice.

“Perhaps Tinubu endorses the filth that issues from Reno’s mouth,” Charly Boy wrote on X.

“Ambassador Reno Omokri, that’s a spectacular mockery of this country—a continental joke. His lies and general stupidity aside, given the bigotry he has displayed against the Igbo recently, how can anyone who values national unity make him an ambassador?

“It is hard to see hope for this country. How can any Igbo approach an embassy led by Reno with a sense of pride or belonging?

“Some may recall that he previously accused Tinubu of being a drug baron. That alone should define him as a moron. So why appoint such a person as an ambassador?

“Tinubu’s decision is disappointing. Why expose our national issues publicly? Reno is like filthy underwear. Perhaps a smaller role would have been more appropriate.

“This might be a deliberate message, endorsing the bigotry that Reno embodies—a gut-punch to national unity, making ‘one Nigeria’ sound like a bad Nollywood script.

“Ambassador Reno… Tufiakwa! I will never go to that embassy.”

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
