AMID ASSASSINATION CLAIMS, SEYI TINUBU HAS RECEIVED CRUCIAL BACKING.
Belusochukwu Enwere, the National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), has firmly denied allegations connecting Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, to the alleged kidnapping of student leader Atiku Isah.
The controversy began after the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) convention in Abuja, where Seyi Tinubu was accused of influencing the election in favor of Comrade Olushola Oladoja, who emerged as the factional NANS President.
Later, Isah, who reportedly did not participate in the election, declared himself the winner and accused Tinubu of orchestrating the violence and his subsequent abduction.
Enwere dismissed the accusations as unfounded and politically driven.
“It is widely known that despite being the son of the President, Seyi Tinubu is a law-abiding citizen of Nigeria. Such false accusations undermine the government’s efforts to address the nation’s security challenges,” he said.
Enwere called for accountability, insisting that Isah issue a public apology and urging law enforcement to take swift action.
“Security agencies must arrest Isah for spreading unwarranted allegations of kidnap and violence,” he stated.
He also urged political figures to avoid divisive tactics and the spread of misinformation.
“At a time when the government is making concerted efforts to combat insecurity, it is disheartening to see individuals propagate falsehoods for political gain. We must unite to support initiatives aimed at restoring peace and stability,” he added.
The statement adds to the growing demand for responsible leadership from both students and political groups amid the tensions following the disputed NANS elections.
