AMORIM UNSURE OF MANCHESTER UNITED FUTURE AFTER CARABAO CUP EXIT
Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has admitted he cannot guarantee he will remain in charge of the club beyond the upcoming international break.
The Portuguese manager is under mounting pressure after United’s shock Carabao Cup elimination to League Two side Grimsby Town on Wednesday, a result that sparked frustration among fans and intensified speculation about his future.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of United’s Premier League clash with Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday, Amorim was asked if he was confident he would not be sacked during the break.
“I don’t know what is going to happen. That is my idea [to continue] but I’m not going to promise you nothing [about] what the future will be. But I am the manager of Manchester United and I think that is not going to change,” he said.
While Amorim made it clear he wants to stay and fight for his job, United’s recent struggles in both league and cup competitions have left the club’s board under pressure to make tough decisions.
The Burnley match could prove crucial in determining whether he retains his role or faces an early exit.
