AMOTEKUN RESCUES KIDNAPPED MAN IN IBADAN, REUNITES HIM WITH FAMILY
Security operatives from the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun, have rescued a man who was abducted in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
The victim, Abdulahi Ajibike, was reportedly kidnapped on Tuesday in Akinyele Local Government Area of the state. Fortunately, help came just in time.
According to reports, Amotekun operatives tracked down the kidnappers and successfully rescued Ajibike near Orita Perin around 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Confirming the incident, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), the State Commandant of Amotekun, told ESSENTIAL NEWS that the victim has already been reunited with his family.
“We rescued the man yesterday,” Olayanju said. “I spoke with journalists, and his family members were present as well.”
The rescue is seen as another major win for Amotekun, a regional security outfit formed to address rising insecurity in South-West Nigeria.
Residents have praised the team for their swift response and called for continued support for local security networks working to keep communities safe.
