AMSTEL MALTA SUPPORTS FIVE ABIA WOMEN WITH GRANTS
Amstel Malta has supported five women entrepreneurs in Abia State with business grants as part of activities marking the 2026 August Meeting in Umuahia.
The grants were presented during the annual gathering at the New Government House, Umuahia, on August 28, where women from Abia and other parts of the country came together to reconnect with their communities and discuss issues affecting them.
The initiative is aimed at helping the beneficiaries strengthen their businesses and pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
The event was attended by Abia State Governor Alex Otti, First Lady Priscilla Otti and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Maureen Aghukwa, who also presented grants to female entrepreneurs at the gathering.
Amstel Malta Senior Brand Manager, Francis Obiajulu, said the brand was pleased to support an event that recognises the contributions of women to their families and communities.
Amstel Malta also partnered with Zaron Cosmetics to distribute specially curated beauty packs to women at the event, extending a collaboration that began at the previous year’s August Meeting.
The brand said its participation in August Meeting activities across the South-East reflects its broader commitment to celebrating and supporting women beyond their everyday responsibilities.
The initiative comes as women-owned businesses continue to play an important role in local economic activity, particularly through small-scale enterprises and community-based ventures.
