The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Nonye Soludo, has called for stronger welfare support and greater compassion for vulnerable children across Nigeria.

She appealed visits to several motherless babies’ homes as part of activities marking Mothering Day, describing children as the foundation of society.

In a statement released on Monday, Soludo said society must show more love, care, and protection to less-privileged children, especially those in orphanage homes.

She stressed that kindness remains the most valuable gift anyone can offer, noting that it brings lasting joy to both the giver and receiver.

According to her, spending time with children in orphanages reinforced the importance of compassion and emotional support for vulnerable groups.

She said the visit reminded her of the true essence of motherhood, care, sacrifice, and the ability to bring hope to those in need.

Soludo also praised mothers for their role in nurturing children and contributing to peace, unity, and development in society.

She further described mothers as key pillars in shaping moral values and strengthening communities through consistent love and guidance.

Her outreach forms part of her NGO initiative, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, which focuses on health awareness and community welfare.
