APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN YILWATDA LOSES MOTHER AT 83
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has lost his beloved mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda, who passed away at the age of 83.
She died on Saturday at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) after a brief illness.
Confirming the sad news in a statement, the APC Plateau State Publicity Secretary, Shittu Bamaiyi, described her passing as a huge loss to the family, Plateau State, and Nigeria as a whole.
“APC in Plateau State received with shock the sad news of the death of the mother of its National Chairman, Mama Lydia Yilwatda,” Bamaiyi said.
Mama Lydia’s death comes just weeks after her son, Prof. Yilwatda, was appointed APC National Chairman in July 2025 following the resignation of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Sympathizers have continued to send condolences to the Yilwatda family, with many praising Mama Lydia for her role in raising a son who is now at the helm of Nigeria’s ruling party.
