APC PRAISES TINUBU OVER BENUE PEACE MEETING
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has commended President Bola Tinubu for initiating a peace and reconciliation meeting aimed at resolving internal party disputes.
The meeting, held in Makurdi, was described by the state APC Chairman, Benjamin Omale, as a crucial step toward restoring unity and strengthening the party’s structure in the state.
Omale expressed appreciation to the President, noting that the initiative reflects his commitment to the growth and stability of Benue State. He also pledged the party’s continued loyalty and support for Tinubu’s leadership.
The APC chairman further praised Governor Hyacinth Alia for his role in promoting unity within the party, highlighting his efforts in creating an environment that made the reconciliation meeting possible.
The gathering was convened to address differences between key political figures, including Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and Governor Alia, particularly over disagreements surrounding automatic tickets ahead of upcoming primaries.
Despite earlier tensions, party leaders at the meeting expressed optimism that unity had been restored. APC National Vice Chairman for the North-Central zone, Mu’azu Rijau, stated that the party had resolved its internal issues and emerged stronger.
He clarified that the party would follow established guidelines in selecting candidates, noting that direct primaries had been adopted as the mode for upcoming elections in the state.
Overall, the reconciliation effort is seen as a strategic move to strengthen party cohesion and position the APC for future electoral success in Benue State.
