APC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY PEACEFUL AND TRANSPARENT IN LAGOS – HAMZAT
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in the state as peaceful, transparent, and successful.
Hamzat, who monitored the exercise across several local government areas, praised party officials, delegates, and security agencies for ensuring the process was free from violence and intimidation.
Speaking to journalists after the primary on Thursday, Hamzat said the smooth conduct reflected the maturity of the APC in Lagos and the strong leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“The presidential primary in Lagos was peaceful and transparent. Our delegates were allowed to vote freely without any form of harassment or interference,” he stated.
He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and security personnel for their professionalism, noting that the exercise was well-organised and orderly.
The Deputy Governor described the outcome as a victory for internal democracy within the APC. He expressed confidence that the peaceful primary would further strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Many APC stakeholders in Lagos have also applauded the conduct of the primary, saying it sets a good example for other states. The successful exercise is expected to boost confidence in the party’s ability to manage its internal processes effectively.
As political activities intensify across the country, the APC in Lagos says it remains united and focused on delivering good governance while preparing for future elections.
