APC REOPENS MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION AHEAD OF 2027 ELECTIONS
The All Progressives Congress has announced the reopening of its electronic membership registration exercise nationwide, giving eligible Nigerians another opportunity to join the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections. The exercise is scheduled to resume on August 31, according to the party.
The development comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, with major political parties working to expand their membership bases and strengthen their structures across the country.
The APC’s membership registration exercise is aimed at updating and digitising the party’s membership records while allowing new members to formally identify with the party. Existing members are also expected to validate their details as part of efforts to maintain an accurate membership database.
The ruling party has previously said its electronic registration system is designed to improve the integrity of its membership records, facilitate access to membership information and support better planning and internal party administration.
The reopening is also expected to provide an opportunity for Nigerians who have expressed interest in joining the APC but were unable to register during earlier phases of the exercise to do so. The party had previously extended its e-registration programme to accommodate more members and work towards its membership target.
With the 2027 elections drawing closer, the renewed registration exercise could further intensify political mobilisation across the country. The APC is expected to use the updated membership structure to strengthen its grassroots presence and prepare its members for upcoming electoral activities.
