Residents of Oyo South Senatorial District have been cautioned against falling prey to online fraudsters pretending to be Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.

The lawmaker, representing the district under the All Progressives Congress (APC), revealed that impostors have opened a fake Facebook account in his name to defraud unsuspecting people.

In a statement from his media office, Senator Alli stressed that he does not request money, personal details, or business transactions through Facebook, Messenger, or any other social media platform.

He urged members of the public to stay alert and avoid engaging with such fraudulent accounts. Anyone with credible information about the impostors is advised to report to the nearest police station for appropriate action.

This warning serves as a reminder for Nigerians to verify online communications and remain vigilant against digital scams.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
