The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Army have restated their resolve to deepen cooperation in tackling security challenges across the state.

This assurance was given on Friday by the Brigade Commander of the 17 Brigade, Ishaya Ibrahim, during a courtesy visit to the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abbas Moriki, at the command headquarters in Katsina.

Ibrahim noted that the Nigerian Army and the NSCDC have maintained a long-standing professional relationship, stressing that sustained collaboration among security agencies remains crucial to addressing insecurity.

He added that the 17 Brigade, under his leadership, would continue to work closely with the NSCDC in support of ongoing security operations within the state.

In his response, Moriki welcomed the brigade commander and reaffirmed the NSCDC’s commitment to partnering with the military and other security agencies to effectively tackle security concerns.

Meanwhile, the NSCDC commandant also hosted the Director-General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Joseph Ochogwu; the State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Abdulrashid Sule; and the Acting Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Katsina Zonal Directorate, Chinedu Ozugha.

The officials highlighted the importance of sustained cooperation among security and law enforcement agencies in confronting the state’s security challenges.

Moriki assured the visiting dignitaries that the corps would continue to strengthen collaboration with their respective organisations to enhance security coordination and institutional synergy in Katsina State.

"This represents a significant development in our ongoing coverage of current events."
