ARSENAL DECIMATES REAL MADRID IN THE UCL QUARTER FINAL FIRST LEG.
Arsenal delivered a stunning 3–0 win over Real Madrid on Tuesday night, gaining a strong advantage in their UEFA Champions League quarter-final matchup.
The first half ended without a goal, but Arsenal came out firing in the second half, netting all three goals in just 17 minutes.
Declan Rice opened the scoring in the 58th minute with a beautifully placed free kick that got the crowd roaring. He struck again in the 70th minute with another expertly taken set piece, doubling the lead.
Mikel Merino sealed the dominant performance in the 75th minute, finishing off a smart assist from M. Lewis-Skelly. Real Madrid’s frustration grew when Eduardo Camavinga was sent off in stoppage time after receiving a second yellow card—his first came in the 69th minute.
Arsenal’s Thomas Partey also received a yellow card in the 54th minute, moments before the team began their scoring spree. The impressive result gives Arsenal a clear edge going into the second leg, as they look to book a place in the semi-finals.
