ARSENAL EYE GAME IN HAND AGAINST WOLVES TO EXTEND TOP-SPOT LEAD
On Wednesday, Arsenal face Wolves in a rescheduled Premier League match, giving them a game in hand over Manchester City for the next couple of weeks.
City’s league fixture against Crystal Palace could not be scheduled this week, as Pep Guardiola’s side prepares for their UEFA Europa Conference League match on Thursday.
Arsenal kick off at Molineux sitting four points ahead of City. A victory would extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points, putting significant pressure on their title rivals.
Manager Mikel Arteta, however, knows it will not be an easy challenge, recalling Arsenal’s narrow 2-1 win against Wolves at the Emirates earlier this season, which required two own goals to secure.
Wednesday’s game offers the Gunners a chance to make a strong statement and regain momentum at the top of the league, something they have struggled to do in recent weeks.
