ARSENAL GO TOP OF PREMIER LEAGUE AFTER BEATING NOTTINGHAM FOREST 3-0
Arsenal have climbed to the top of the Premier League table after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in Saturday’s early kick-off at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners, eager to bounce back from their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international break, started strongly and dominated the first half. Their pressure paid off when Martin Zubimendi fired home a brilliant volley to open the scoring just before half-time.
Moments into the second half, Eberechi Eze set up Viktor Gyokeres, who calmly slotted in Arsenal’s second of the afternoon, putting the game firmly out of Forest’s reach.
Zubimendi then doubled his tally with a powerful header from Leandro Trossard’s cross, sealing an emphatic win for Mikel Arteta’s men.
The result moves Arsenal to the summit of the Premier League with nine points from four matches. However, their stay at the top could be short-lived as Liverpool have the chance to reclaim first place when they travel to face Burnley on Sunday.
For Arsenal fans, though, it was another convincing home performance that keeps their title hopes firmly alive.
