ARSENAL PROMOTE MAX PORTER TO UNDER-21S HEAD COACH
Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Max Porter as the club’s new under-21s head coach, ahead of the upcoming season.
The North London club announced the news on Friday through an official statement.
Porter, who joined Arsenal in 2017 as the under-9s head coach, has steadily worked his way through the academy ranks, coaching several age groups including the under-13s, under-17s, and under-19s.
His new role comes following the departure of Mehmet Ali, who left this summer to join Brentford’s first-team coaching staff.
Arsenal’s Academy Manager, Per Mertesacker, praised Porter for his dedication and growth within the club, saying he has the “qualities needed to be a successful leader and coach” at Arsenal.
With this promotion, Porter is now set to play a key role in developing the next generation of Gunners, as the academy continues to strengthen its pathway to the first team.
